 All razors are approximately 4" in
length with the exception of the traveling razors, which are
approximately 2 & 1/4" to 3" in length.
They work like a
cartridge style razor, except the cartridges slide into place instead of
snapping in place. Replacement cartridges are readily available. Our
collectible razor handles accommodate name brand cartridges, i.e. Gillette
Trac II or private label brands similar to the Trac
II.
A 5 pack of razor cartridges is included with each razor.
Bronze Razors
All of our bronze razors are made using a
technique that is thousands of years old called "lost wax casting". The
original carving is made in metal. A rubber mold is then made of the carving
and hot wax is injected into the mold to make a perfect wax replica. The
replica is then encased in a plaster material. This plaster mold is heated over
a period of time at high temperatures until the wax vaporizes inside. A
solid mold remains into which molten bronze is shot, using centrifugal force.
When cooled, the mold is broken to release the metal sculpture. A new
replica is made for every piece. |

Resin Razors
All of our resin razors start with an original model sculpted in metal. A
rubber mold is made of the carving, and resin is hand-poured into it. Through
this process, we are able to achieve beautiful translucent hues and unique
marbleized textures. Our colors are custom blended, so please allow for
variations from lot to lot. The marbleized colors are randomly dispersed
through each piece, resulting in a one-of-a-kind look. Our hand-painted
razors, all done with a meticulous attention to detail, will have slight
variations in the finishes which we feel make these razors extra special.
